Lately i have been buying most of my stuff online, be it a book, perfume or a vodafone recharge.
I have used these 3 websites till now : -

Out of the above 3 , I always preferred Fashion and You cos in terms of the looks and feel it gives & makes you feel more like a Niche customer. The website is designed in a very systematic way and looks great but there are lot of technical problems they face. Whenever they have a lot of schemes up on their website all at once their server crashes. This is one of the negative aspect of the website. It however has good offers which come up everyday at 11 am which stay for a couple of hours or days - it depends from brand to brand. However the website ships your order in about 2-3 weeks time so you have to wait for your order, but mostly they deliver your order within 2 weeks time or even 10-12 days. After ordering you can keep a track of your order on the website.You are sent an invoice via email and your tracking number is also given along with it, you also recieve an sms stating your ordered transaction number & order amount. The order as and when shipped is informed via email and sms. The ordered item is neatly packed and is in a great condition, therefore you are satisfied with the purchase.
Homeshop18 on the other hand is a pretty simple website, it does work on the look but Fashion and You still is way better in looks and usability. Homeshop18 does not have people endorsing the brands in the pictures and it has limited brands which it offers on the website, Fashion and You caters to the middle and upper middle class however Homeshop18 caters to the masses. The delivery time taken by Homeshop18 is said to be 7-8 days but when i ordered a book from the website the delivery was done almost after 2 weeks, which was very disappointing, the packaging was somewhat ok but after the order they did not send any tracking number. This was not a very good experience i had. Therefore, i would avoid ordering from Homeshop18 as much as possible.
Flipkart.com, the website which has been advertising on the Television lately does live upto the promises it does.It has a simple yet cool website. I ordered a book online on flipkart.com yesterday, it said that the order would be delivered within 3 business working days and i already had the order delivered today. After ordering, an email was sent to me along with an SMS stating the order confirmation and the amount of the order. Apart from the SMS and email which i recieved just after ordering, i also recieved an email stating the order has been shipped and will be delivered as soon as possible and a tracking number was also given. The ordered item was neatly packed and delivered in very good condition. Within 2 hours of the order being delivered the website again sent an email as well as sms stating the successful delivery of the order.
I really feel that Flipkart.com is being very proactive and delivering as per their promise, i hope other websites also start working like flipkart. One of the best thing about fashion and you is that they have this digital signature machine which they use when they deliver an order. These 2 websites are sure on my top list for buying stuff online next time. If you know of any website recommendations are more than welcome Ciao!
